Art demonstrations on show

2018 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the annual Gippsland Art on Show.

Demonstration artists will be a main feature at the 2018 Art Show. With talented emu egg carver, Gunaikurnai man Ringo (Adrian) Morgan conducting a demonstration on Saturday between 11-12pm.  Well-known local artist Jan Long will be painting art works throughout the show and Vicki Jesty President of the East Gippsland Photographic Society will be holding photography classes on Saturday and Sunday.

The annual Gippsland Lakes Art on Show will showcase local Aboriginal culture in many mediums at the 2018 show. Attendees will experience a culturally diverse exhibition, including a display of local artefacts, locally made possum skin cloaks and contemporary artworks.   Mr Grattan Mullett, Cultural Hub Manager of Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) will be available to discuss the exhibitions.  Mr Mullett said “We are pleased to partner with the Rotary Club of Lakes Entrance to bring what promises to be an exciting art show for local residents and visitors to East Gippsland”.

The Art Show will be held at Forestec on the long weekend in March, 9th- 12th.  The opening night Friday 9th will begin at 6:00pm with live music and entertainment.
