A turtle table for Hoddinott St

20 May 2026

Check out this deadly turtle table, recently installed at the Hoddinott St Playground in Bairnsdale!

Designed and made by Dougie Hood from our Business Enterprise team, this friendly turtle started life as a simple sketch.

Dougie spent many hours carefully carving and sanding to bring his vision to life, and it’s already putting smiles on the faces of local children. Big thanks also to Callum Morton for his chainsaw skills, and Mick Stephenson from Productive Innovations for his help on installation day.

From sketch to playground – a turtle takes shape

It’s always great to see culture out on display in community spaces where young ones can interact with it, connect with it, and make lasting memories.

Delivered by our talented Business Enterprise team for East Gippsland Shire Council, this project is just one example of the huge range of work the crews are currently doing – from revegetation and weed management to boardwalks, bridges, gravel road construction, landscape design and more.
