Celebrating our Elders
17 October 2025

Wangun Amphitheatre was jumping last week as our Elders gathered for a special celebration.
It was one of those days where everything just felt right – the sun was shining, the company was deadly, and the sense of community was strong as we came together to honour our Elders. Your knowledge, your strength, and your commitment have given us the opportunities we have today – and we thank you.
Lunch brought everyone together for a good feed and, as we all know, sharing a meal is when the magic happens – sitting down, yarning, stories flowing. These are the moments that remind us why gatherings like this matter so much.
Big thanks to Shay Terrick for his Welcome and to the Culture Connect dancers for showing how the next generation is stepping up and carrying Culture strong.
Uncle Lindsay, Aunty Gail and Uncle Tom had everyone’s toes tapping with their music, and we were even treated to a special guest appearance from Aunty Sandra. Aunty Sandra rocks!
The day was all part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, and was hosted in partnership with East Gippsland Shire Council, GEGAC, LEAHA, Ramahyuck and Lake Tyers Trust.
To our Elders – thank you. You’ve carried us this far, and we’ll keep following your lead.
This one was for you. 🖤 💛 ❤️
