In 2021, GLaWAC members clearly opposed the development of a mineral sands mine at the Fingerboards near Bairnsdale, reflecting the widespread lack of support across the region. In early 2025, Gippsland Critical Minerals (formerly Kalbar) invited us to join their Community Reference Group. We declined, as our position remains unchanged.
